Gellhorn v. Hemingway: In Love and War
Watch the series live, September 16 through 18
What happens when two brilliant writers collide in love, ambition, and war?
Over three evenings and an afternoon, The Study brings together the extraordinary and combustible relationship between Ernest Hemingway and Martha Gellhorn, two of the twentieth century's most influential literary voices. They met in a Key West bar in 1936. Within a few years they were reporting the Spanish Civil War from the same city, married, and locked in a competition neither of them would admit to. Gellhorn eventually left, and went on to cover nearly every major conflict of the century. Hemingway never forgave her for it.
