This is a 4-meeting virtual class using the Zoom platform.

Mondays, October 5, 12, 19 and 26, 6-8 pm Central time.


About this class: This introductory four session class will explore multiple ways in which religion and science can interact from conflict and independence to dialogue and cooperation. Drawing on the book When Science Meets Religion by Ian Barbour, areas of interaction such as astronomy and creation, quantum physics, evolution and human nature will be briefly explored.

Please note: This class will be held live on Zoom during the dates and time listed above. If you can’t attend a session or if the time doesn’t work for you, a password-protected course page will host video recordings for registered participants to watch at their convenience.

Instructor bio: Dr. Ernest Simmons is an ordained Lutheran pastor with a PhD in theology and philosophy of religion. He is a retired Concordia College professor who taught Religion courses for 39 years. He has a particular interest in the relation of Religion and science and has written articles and books related to those areas.
